The idea for Chai was born from personal experience and observations. I noticed that modern youth, growing up in the context of information overload, often show less interest in religion and the history of our people. Traditional methods of teaching and engagement seem outdated to me and don't generate interest among modern audiences.
At the same time, I saw how AI and Web 3.0 technologies were transforming various industries. A thought occurred: why not use these innovations to create an engaging educational experience? That's how the concept of Chai emerged — a platform that connects millennia-old wisdom with cutting-edge technologies, making Jewish heritage accessible and interesting for everyone.
Chai (חי) is a Hebrew word that means 'life' or 'living.' It's not just a name, but a profound symbol in Jewish culture. The two letters that make up the word — ח (chet) and י (yod) — have a numerical value of 18, which is why the number 18 is considered lucky in Jewish tradition.
We chose this name because our mission is to make Jewish heritage alive, relevant, and dynamic. We're not just preserving traditions; we're breathing new life into them through modern technologies. Our slogan 'מורשת חיה' (Moreshet Chaya) translates as 'living heritage,' which perfectly reflects our philosophy.
AI opens up completely new possibilities for education. In the Chai project, we use artificial intelligence in several ways.
First, there are adaptive quizzes, which we plan to eventually customize to the knowledge level and learning pace of each user. The system will analyze answers and automatically adjust the difficulty of questions, making learning more effective.
Second, we're developing a unique feature — the ability to 'talk' with great Jewish thinkers of the past through small language models (sLLM). Imagine being able to ask Maimonides or Rashi a question and receive an answer based on their teachings. This isn't just an imitation — it's a deep immersion into their philosophy and worldview.
Telegram provides unique opportunities for educational projects. First, it has a huge audience — over 1 billion users worldwide, and this number is growing by 12.5% annually.
Of course, our community numbers about 15 million people in total, but I'm confident that by highlighting interesting facts from our rich history, talking about our great scientists and artists, we'll show the world what a significant contribution the Jewish people have made to the development of culture and science for all humanity.
Moreover, considering the not-so-simple geopolitical situation, our work seems even more relevant.
Getting back to the choice of platform.
Telegram Mini Apps is a powerful tool that allows creating full-fledged applications within the messenger. Users don't need to download additional programs or switch between platforms — everything is available in a familiar environment.
Third, Telegram offers excellent opportunities for community building. We're creating not just an educational platform, but a living community of people interested in Jewish heritage. Through group chats, channels, and discussions, users can exchange experiences, ask questions, and find like-minded individuals.
Finally, integration with the TON ecosystem opens up additional opportunities for gamification and reward systems, which increases user engagement.
We've developed a multi-level monetization strategy that isn't limited to a single source of income.
The main source is a premium subscription, which provides access to expanded content, exclusive features, and personalized educational programs. At the same time, the basic version remains free to make knowledge accessible to everyone.
The second source is in-app purchases. These can be additional courses, special materials, or virtual goods that enhance the user experience.
The third direction is monetization of media content. We create quality educational content that can be licensed for use by educational institutions or other platforms.
Finally, we're working on partnership programs with educational centers, religious organizations, and cultural institutions, which creates additional opportunities for growth and development.
Our calculations show that upon reaching 200,000 active users, the project will break even approximately 1 year after launch.
Like any innovative project, Chai faces certain challenges.
The first is creating a balance between traditions and innovations. We're working with millennia-old heritage, and it's important to present it in a modern format without losing depth and authenticity.
The second challenge is the diversity of the Jewish audience. Jews around the world have different levels of knowledge, different traditions, and different expectations from an educational platform. We're addressing this challenge through content personalization and creating various educational trajectories.
The third challenge is the technical complexity of the project. Integrating AI, Web 3.0, and Telegram requires high expertise. Fortunately, we've formed a strong team of specialists, including AI experts and developers with experience in creating Telegram Mini Apps.
Finally, there's the challenge of scaling. We plan to enter the global market, which requires adapting content for different regions and cultural contexts. Our phased growth strategy allows us to address these challenges sequentially.
In 3 years, I see Chai as a leading global platform for learning about Jewish heritage, with hundreds of thousands of active users worldwide.
Technologically, we plan to develop the AI component, creating an increasingly personalized and immersive educational experience. Imagine being able to not just read about Jewish history, but to 'live' it.
We also see Chai as a platform that unites various Jewish communities and traditions, creating bridges between different streams of Judaism and generations. This is especially important in the context of globalization and growing assimilation.
In terms of education, we aim to become the quality standard for digital Jewish education, collaborating with leading universities, yeshivas, and cultural centers.
To users, I would like to say: Chai is created for you. Regardless of your level of knowledge or community affiliation, our platform offers a unique opportunity to touch centuries-old wisdom in a modern, engaging format. We don't just teach — we inspire, unite, and create a community of people who value their heritage.
To investors, I would like to emphasize: Chai is not just an educational project; it's an innovative technological platform with a clear strategy for growth and monetization. We're working at the intersection of several growing markets: EdTech, AI, Web 3.0, and cultural heritage. Our team combines technological expertise with a deep understanding of the subject matter and passion for the project's mission.
But most importantly, Chai has not only commercial potential but also significant social impact. By investing in Chai, you're investing in the preservation and transmission of cultural heritage, in strengthening identity, and in creating bridges between traditions and innovations. As it's said in Jewish tradition: 'Whoever saves one life saves an entire world.' By investing in Chai, you're helping to preserve living heritage for future generations.
